I spent last week in New Orleans presenting a poster at Digestive Disease Weekly…ooooh fun. I actually got to go to the Jazz Fest, see my cousins, spend the day with my aunt, buy some yarn, and eat a copious amount of delicious food. So all in all a fantastic time. I even helped a random knitter pick up a dropped stitch on the plane home.
I finished knitting up the baby blanket of doom on Thursday. Now it just needs a good wash and ends woven in. Then it will be actually completed and allowed on the finished list.
Still chugging away on Jeanie. We had a mishap on the plane ride to New Orleans – I blame Nashville and their weather that caused the worse turbulence I’ve experience on a plane in a long time. Thankfully the stitches are back on the needles… it’s still the never ending 1×1 shawl. I keep reminding myself the finished project will be worth the monotony….. one day.
The pygora is coming along beautifully. I love the spindle more and more each day. I might even love it more than my golding… and that’s saying a lot. I bought some red merino/cashmere roving from Corgi Hill Farms – because who can resist red cashmere. I have no willpower – hopefully that will see the wheel soon.
I did my first cable ply. I really like how it turned out…. but the camera needs more batteries.
Jacie and I hijacked Tracy – took over her etsy shop (ok restarted it), took pictures of all her jewelry… Go check out the awesome stuff Post Call Jewels (I would be wearing some of her jewelry right now – except I left them all at her house yesterday). I started her a blog too Post Call Jewels Blog. Leave her comments and see Jacie’s awesome pictures.
Hopefully sometime this week I’ll get pictures of the above mentioned things. As always life is busy busy.
Happy Mother’s Day’s to everyone.
